Job summary

Superluminal Medicines, Inc. is seeking a VP, Head of Legal to provide strategic legal counsel across corporate, IP, employment, governance, and compliance as the company grows.

Reporting to the CFO, the role partners with the executive team and Board to shape the legal function and risk management. Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law and bar admission in at least one U.S. state (or DC).
• Experience leading in-house legal teams in life sciences.
• Strong governance, corporate and transactional experience.
• Ability to advise CEOs, CFOs and Boards of Directors with strategic legal insight.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior legal advisor to CEO, exec leadership, and Board.
• Lead governance, records, minutes, and governance policies.
• Oversee material commercial agreements and strategic transactions.
• Build and scale the internal legal function and processes.
• Partner with Finance, Operations and Business Development on risk and strategy.
• Manage outside counsel and internal risk across corporate, IP and employment matters.
