Job summary

SGA seeks a Principal, Interior Design to lead and grow our New York interior design practice. The role combines strategic leadership with strong financial accountability and client relationship management.

You will guide design direction, oversee projects across corporate interiors and multifamily sectors, and collaborate with our architecture and interiors teams in NY and Boston to strengthen the firm’s market position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience with interior design leadership.
• Proven experience developing client relationships and pursuing new business.
• Experience leading corporate interiors, multifamily residential, or related commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of design principles, materials, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead the growth and performance of the New York interior design practice.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and expand the portfolio.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality to ensure profitability.
• Collaborate across NY and Boston offices with architecture and design teams.
• Set design direction, review key design reviews, and ensure excellence.
