Job summary

First Tech Federal Credit Union seeks a Vice President of Information Security to lead security engineering strategy and execution across the organization. You will set secure-by-design direction, oversee cross-domain controls, and guide senior engineers to protect systems and data while enabling growth.

You will translate regulatory requirements into practical engineering solutions, partner with executives, and drive investments in scalable security platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience leading information security engineering or closely related technology security functions in complex, regulated, or large-scale environments.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience as a people leader, leading a diverse team including hiring, coaching and performance management.
• Deep understanding of modern security engineering principles, including secure architecture, automation, identity, cloud security, and defense-in-depth.

Responsibilities

• Establish the strategic direction and operating vision for information security engineering, aligning capabilities with risk priorities.
• Provide executive oversight for design, implementation, and ongoing maturity of security engineering controls across identity, cloud, application, network, and data domains.
• Lead and develop senior security engineering leaders and teams, fostering technical depth, accountability, and future leadership capability.
• Partner with executive stakeholders to integrate security engineering practices into platforms, products, and enterprise services.
• Govern security engineering standards, patterns, and guardrails for consistency, scalability, and resilience.
• Oversee security technology investments, including tool selection, lifecycle, vendor relationships, and prioritization of initiatives.
• Ensure engineering capabilities are reliable, available, and support incident response and operational continuity.
• Translate policy, regulatory, and risk requirements into practical, auditable engineering solutions.
• Monitor security engineering performance and risk indicators for leadership insight.
• Represent information security engineering in strategic planning and architectural discussions.
