We currently have an exceptional opportunity for a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to join Syska in our New York, NY, office. The ideal candidate, in partnership with the leadership team, President & CEO, will be responsible for leadership of HR management, employee engagement and culture, organization effectiveness, and the commercial advancement of the HR team focused on driving organizational outcomes and the realization of the business strategy for the organization.

Job Responsibilities

The CHRO, in partnership with the leadership team across the globe, will work with others to “build a plan for the future”, with a focus on supporting global strategies that drive a positive, engaged culture where employees feel connected to their work, are enthusiastic about their on-going contributions, and actively participate in achieving the company’s most important goals and objectives, which ultimately that will differentiate the organization in the marketplace. Additionally, the Head of HR will work with leaders to optimize the business and further enhance the infrastructure in core areas, ultimately making a difference in the “how” of the work, leading to building a unique culture and measurable outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with the CAO and other key leaders to enable HR to drive organizational capability, performance, and sustainable long term organic and acquisitive growth, demonstrating collaboration, strategic thinking, business acumen and results.
  • Develop and implement competitive compensation and rewards offerings based on thorough analysis of current programs, systems, benefits, performance management, etc. Work with key stakeholders to ensure total involvement and definitions of accountability across all roles and positions.
  • Workforce Planning – Lead the organizational review process and build a strategy to support growth and the realization of strategic goals to meet labor and talent needs currently, and for the future. Identify skill gaps and assess for future state of the workforce, address future talent needs and leveraging of AI.
  • Build an end-to-end talent management capability, including talent acquisition, employer branding, recruiting, employee value proposition (EVP), and development & training. Build programs to ensure impactful leadership and management development, succession planning and management, the attraction of top talent at every level, and ensuring talent pipelines are full and focused on recruiting top talent to address growth and future business needs.
  • Evaluate the current HR team and build the team of the future. Manage the Team providing day-to-day support and strategic guidance across all subfunctions and geographies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Department Managers addressing EEO, compensation, benefits and labor practices. Coach and train this group to the next level of leadership.
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance with federal and state laws. Consult with legal counsel, as necessary.
  • Serve as a strategic communicator to the organization, leveraging all forms of communication to drive engagement, accountability, bolstering and underscoring the firm-wide values and the value of people and the organizations’ clients.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree with an emphasis in Human Resources or related major or equivalent.
  • 10 -15 years’ experiences of related experience and/or training, with global HR experience being a plus.
  • Knowledge of working within formal Applicant Tracking System is a must, working with Greenhouse is highly preferred
  • Expertise in problem-solving, project management, customer service, change management, diversity, ethics, and people management.
  • Strong analytical and technological skills.
  • Strategic leadership with a focus on vision, team building, professionalism, adaptability, innovation, and initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Experience in coaching and counseling.
  • Proficient in delivering impactful presentations to internal stakeholders, the Board, and the external market.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills is a must
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Personable with the ability to represent the firm with professionalism

Key Objectives And Critical Success Factors:

  • Be the “face of HR” Be visible, present and focused on culture building, team members engagement and driving results.
  • Lead and drive all operational aspects of HR, ensuring HR is one of the most respected functions in the company and known for operational excellence, proactive employee relations, systems that support and facilitate a data-driven approach to performance management, and overall outstanding leadership.
  • Work with firmwide leaders across the global entity to build and drive a robust talent management strategy.
  • Assess and anticipate the company’s talent needs to understand current talent pools, talent funnel health, future leadership gaps, and bench strength. Design and implement a comprehensive global leadership development strategy to meet future needs and annually deliver against goals.
  • Lead the annual performance review process by working with leaders to establish objectives and ensure on-time and accurate talent reviews across the company.
  • Foster a culture of engagement, positivity, accountability and results but also where top talent is rewarded, developed and given opportunities for future impact inside the organization.
  • Work with leaders on M&A and integration. Serve as a voice of reason on how to integrate effectively and work with the CEO and leadership team on streamlining the process for bringing talent into the organization.
  • Coach and advise across the organization offering sound and sage advice, and readily problem-solving. Proactively addressing potential conflicts of interest and having crucial conversations with ease and diplomacy. Innately understands the business implications of decisions and inspires trust among colleagues and all stakeholders – even with those with competing agenda’s.
