Job description

Avo Photonics (www.avophotonics.com) is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff have the opportunity to design, prototype and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.

The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) will build and lead the Human Resources function by creating the programs, processes, organizational capabilities, and culture needed to attract, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce. As a member of the executive leadership team, the CHRO will strengthen leadership, optimize organizational effectiveness, and build scalable HR programs that support long-term success and growth.

Specifically

  • Build and lead the Human Resources function by establishing priorities, processes, and programs across talent acquisition, employee development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and compliance to support the business.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on organizational design, talent, leadership, succession planning, and workforce-related business decisions.
  • Develop HR dashboards and analytics to track key metrics, identify trends, and use data to improve hiring, retention, development, and overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Create and execute talent acquisition strategies, including recruiting, sourcing, assessment, selection, onboarding, employer branding, and job descriptions that attract top talent.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding program that enables new employees to integrate quickly, understand expectations, build meaningful connections, embrace the company culture, and succeed in their roles.
  • Build employee development programs focused on training, career growth, continuous learning, and developing the skills needed for long-term success.
  • Create leadership development and talent management programs that strengthen managers, improve performance, and build future leaders.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives by using employee feedback and data to improve the employee experience.
  • Evaluate organizational effectiveness by assessing roles, reporting relationships, and leadership effectiveness, implementing structural changes that improve organizational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility for HR strategy within a growing manufacturing organization.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with executive leadership to improve organizational effectiveness, develop leadership capability, and lead organizational change.
  • Proven experience building talent acquisition, employee development, succession planning, organizational design, and HR analytics programs that deliver measurable business results.
