Job summary

Habitat Omaha is seeking a Chief Housing Officer to lead housing strategy, production systems, and real estate development, reporting to the CEO and serving on the Executive Leadership Team.

The CHO will guide construction operations and home repair programs, oversee budgets with the CFAO, collaborate with municipal partners, lenders, and nonprofits, and ensure safety, quality, and organizational sustainability while expanding impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in housing, construction, real estate or related fields.
• Experience leading multiple departments and senior leaders in a complex org.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategy with measurable impact.
• Experience with development projects, land acquisition, or real estate transactions.
• Experience presenting to Boards and executive teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for construction, home repair, and real estate leaders.
• Build a high‑performing housing leadership team focused on accountability and collaboration.
• Oversee volunteer and internship programs within housing functions.
• Develop and oversee housing-related operating and capital budgets with the CFAO.
• Lead housing strategy, production planning and KPI setting across functions.
• Represent Habitat Omaha with external partners and community stakeholders.
