Job summary

VITAS Healthcare in Torrance, CA is seeking a seasoned head of operations to oversee core services with a focus on resource planning, deployment and optimization. You will guide the development of standards, KPIs, staffing, scheduling, logistics and financial performance, and lead a team reviewing daily metrics in support of business operations.

The role directs short- and long-range plans and budgets, leads executives who implement policies, and drives programs to meet corporate goals.

Qualifications

• Must have over 10 years of experience in a senior operations position within a healthcare setting.
• Experience with multisite, multistate operations, business modeling, and resource allocation and management.
• Track record of increased profitability, improved performance and process improvement.
• Exceptional communication, multi-tasking, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work on various assignments simultaneously.
• Knowledge of disciplinary processes and coaching to improve performance or terminate.
• Proficient with common software including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and make recommendations for improvement to the organization’s core services focusing on resource planning, deployment and utilization.
• Assist in developing organizational standards and KPIs for staffing, scheduling, logistics and financial performance.
• Direct an internal team that reviews and monitors daily KPIs in support of business operations.
• Develop short- and long-term strategies for improving resource management.
• Guide management in development, production, promotion, and operational/financial aspects of services.
• Direct short-term and long-range plans and budgets based on goals and growth objectives.
• Oversee executives who direct field/program activities implementing policies.
• Implement programs that meet corporate goals and objectives.
• Create structure to manage current activities and projected growth.
