Job summary

• Leads all aspects of health information at the institution.

Responsibilities

• Directs all personnel within records analysis, coding, clinical documentation improvement, medical record files, incomplete records/physician liaison, data validation, quality improvement processes, medical transcription, and records management.
• Evaluates the health records program, identifies problems, and develops recommendations for improvement and innovative solutions.
• Ensures health information is coded correctly and complies with VA and Joint Commission standards.
• Serves on a multidisciplinary revenue team to optimize reimbursement opportunities and provides technical guidance on health information issues.
