Job summary

Harlem Grown seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead strategy and execution of revenue growth from ~$5.5M to ~$7M in three years. You will manage a portfolio of ~25 major donors, close six- and seven-figure gifts, and guide the advancement team toward diversified funding across individuals, foundations, corporate partners, government, and events.

You will partner with the CEO and Executive Director to maximize donor engagement, steward relationships, and build a sustainable fundraising

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising and major gifts.
• Proven ability to close six- and seven-figure gifts from diverse sources.
• Experience building and leading advancement teams with a strategic mindset.
• Experience managing donor portfolios and cultivation strategies.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to craft persuasive fundraising materials.

Responsibilities

• Grow annual operating budget from ~ $5.5M to ~ $7M over three years.
• Own fundraising performance across all revenue streams: individuals, foundations, corporate, government, events.
• Manage a portfolio of ~25 major gifts donors, focusing on $100,000+ per year; close six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Lead donor pipeline development to diversify funding and reduce reliance on legacy donors.
• Collaborate with CEO/Executive Director to prioritize donor engagement and prepare asks.
• Develop and implement revenue diversification strategies and brand development.
