Job summary

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Senior Vice President of Engineering for a major utility in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This is a full-time onsite leadership role overseeing the complete engineering lifecycle from planning to delivery and integration with O&M and capital programs.

The role requires 18+ years in engineering leadership, a PE license (PR), and deep T&D expertise, with a track record of delivering large-scale capital projects and driving grid modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 18+ years of progressive engineering leadership in transmission and/or distribution utilities.
• 8+ years at Vice President level or above with multi-function accountability.
• Deep technical expertise across T&D system planning, design, asset engineering, protection & control.
• Experience supporting capital programs, O&M, and federally funded projects in regulated utilities.
• PE license required; active PR license or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the final engineering authority for transmission and distribution across the enterprise.
• Consolidate engineering groups and establish unified accountability and standards.
• Contribute to enterprise strategy, capital allocation, risk management and performance.
• Deliver design-ready packages for capital projects and O&M execution.
• Lead system planning to meet current and future load, reliability, and resiliency goals.
• Enable grid modernization through advanced tech and DER integration.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and federal requirements.
