Job summary

Maymont Foundation in Richmond, Virginia, seeks a Vice President of Development to lead fundraising strategy, grow annual and major gifts, and oversee grants, corporate partnerships, and government relationships.

Reporting to the President/CEO, you will lead a development team, drive donor engagement, manage board interactions, and align fundraising with strategic priorities for sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 7–10 years in development, fundraising, or advancement at a nonprofit or cultural institution.
• Demonstrated track record in building and maintaining major donor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual and multi-year fundraising strategy across diverse revenue streams.
• Lead and manage development team members across giving and advancement services.
• Oversee grants management from prospecting to post-award reporting.
• Cultivate and solicit major gifts with donors, foundations, and corporations.
• Collaborate with Board, executives, and partners to align fundraising with strategy.
• Ensure donor stewardship, data integrity, and timely reporting to leadership.
