Job summary

Acron Aviation is seeking a Head of Flight Safety to lead the safety management system across Sanford and Jacksonville flight academies and to oversee the US ASAP program.

The role reports to the Global Head of Safety and Compliance, acts as the primary aviation safety focal for regulators including FAA and NTSB, and provides senior-level guidance on safety matters to the Academy Director and leadership team.

Qualifications

• Pilot license holder (or previously held) – civilian or military aviation.
• Minimum 2 years in aviation safety/compliance monitoring.
• Formal safety management system training/qualifications.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years related experience (Graduate Degree with 7+; in lieu of degree 13+).

Responsibilities

• Implement the safety management system across the Sanford and Jacksonville US flight academies.
• Act as the primary aviation safety focal for FAA, NTSB, UKCAA and EASA as required.
• Lead investigations for major incidents, accidents and events.
• Provide senior safety guidance to the Academy Director and leadership on safety matters.
• Facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis and risk management across flight and ground activities.
• Oversee compliance monitoring and drive timely corrective actions.
