Chicago Behavioral Hospital in Des Plaines, Illinois, seeks a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead all financial operations of our 150-bed behavioral health facility. You will partner with the CEO to shape financial strategy, oversee budgeting, reporting, and internal controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

This full-time role offers a comprehensive benefits package and a compensation range of $160k-$180k annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
• Minimum three years as a Controller/financial leader in healthcare setting.
• Proficient with HMS system and Microsoft Excel; strong accounting software knowledge.
• Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial and accounting operations in accordance with policies.
• Advise CEO on financial strategy and performance.
• Prepare and present timely financial statements and management reports.
• Lead annual budgeting and variance analysis.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and internal controls.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Develop cost-control measures and efficiencies.

This position is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.Job Related SkillsOversee all financial and accounting operations in accordance with facility and corporate policies.Serve as a key advisor to the CEO on financial strategy, goals, and operational performance.Prepare, analyze, and present timely financial statements and management reports.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory financial reporting requirements.Lead the annual budgeting process and perform ongoing variance analysis.Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow management.Oversee fixed asset management and depreciation reporting.Coordinate and participate in internal and external financial audits.Develop and implement cost-control measures and operational efficiencies.Lead and supervise accounting and business office staff, fostering strong employee engagement and performance.Participate in senior leadership and interdisciplinary committees as requested.Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:Education & Licensure: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
