Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the hospital's financial strategy with the CEO.

Chicago Behavioral Hospital is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team in Des Plaines, IL. This critical leadership position will serve as a key advisor to the CEO and will be responsible for overseeing the organization's financial strategy, operational performance, regulatory compliance, and long-term financial health.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in healthcare finance, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive strategic decision-making in a behavioral health environment.

• Base Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 annually
• Bonus Eligibility: Performance-based annual incentive bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute the hospital's financial strategy.
• Create and present financial, operational, and tax strategy recommendations.
• Lead all budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A) activities.
• Oversee cash flow, treasury management, working capital, and financial controls.
• Direct accounting operations, financial reporting, and annual audit processes.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Provide oversight and leadership for the Accounting, Business Office, and Information Technology departments.
• Evaluate operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Support strategic growth initiatives, capital planning, and organizational development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• 7-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
• Prior experience in a psychiatric hospital, behavioral health, or healthcare setting strongly preferred.
• Strong expertise in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Demonstrated success managing audits, financial compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
