CFS in Baltimore, MD is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead finance and operations during a transformational period. You will guide the transition from fiscal sponsorship to independent operations and oversee a $13M multi-entity budget.

You will manage a small team, report to the leadership and Board, and partner on strategic growth while benefiting from a flexible hybrid work model and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required with nonprofit exposure.
• CPA preferred; experience building finance departments and internal controls.
• Proven track record in multi-entity nonprofit accounting and audits.

Compensation: Up to $170,000 Base Salary

Schedule: Hybrid - 2 Days In Office / 3 Days Remote

A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead finance and operations during a transformational period. The organization is transitioning from fiscal sponsorship to full independence, creating a unique opportunity for a finance executive to build infrastructure, strengthen processes, and serve as a key member of the leadership team.

The CFO will oversee financial operations for a multi-entity nonprofit with an approximate $13 million budget and lead a team consisting of a Director of Finance and three accounting professionals.

Qualifications

• Strong nonprofit accounting and finance leadership background, including experience building, developing, and scaling finance and accounting departments, teams, processes, and internal controls.
• Experience leading or supporting a fiscal sponsorship transition.
• Federal grant management and audit experience required.
• Experience building financial infrastructure and internal controls.
• Multi-entity accounting experience preferred.
• Experience overseeing budgets of $10M+.
