About BetSmart
BetSmart is redefining the future of sports betting through design-forward thinking, advanced data science, and a thesis that resonates. We’re a fast-moving team blending analytics, technology, and creativity to build a smarter, more intuitive sports betting experience. Now, we’re looking for a Chief Financial Officer to help steer our financial strategy, capital planning, and long-term business model — someone who thrives at the intersection of high-growth operations, financial precision, and strategic vision.
The Role
As CFO, you’ll be responsible for driving BetSmart’s financial health and trajectory. You’ll own our budgeting, forecasting, fundraising, and capital allocation strategies — while shaping the infrastructure that enables us to scale responsibly. You’ll be the financial thought partner to the management team, helping align the company’s financial goals with its long-term strategic priorities.
We are seeking a finance leader who blends rigorous analytical discipline with entrepreneurial agility and who is excited about building the financial foundation of a data-driven, tech-forward consumer business.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Finance & Planning
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and modeling that aligns with company OKRs and growth roadmap
• Own P&L management, cost optimization, and scenario planning to support sound executive decision-making
• Work cross-functionally with product, growth, and operations teams to model ROI on key initiatives
• Develop and execute strategies for equity and non-dilutive financing (e.g. venture capital, credit facilities, strategic partnerships)
• Lead investor communications, diligence processes, and fundraising materials with precision and clarity
• Partner with legal and external advisors to manage cap table, equity grants, and financial compliance
Accounting & Reporting
• Oversee financial operations, including accounting, audit, cash flow management, and tax
• Ensure timely, accurate reporting and compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory standards
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting systems to give real-time visibility into performance metrics
• Establish internal controls, systems, and processes for scalable, transparent financial management
• Implement financial technology tools to improve automation, reporting, and cost management
• Build a finance function capable of scaling with the company through rapid growth and complexity
Leadership & Team Building
• Recruit, manage, and mentor a high-performing financial team
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and operational excellence
• Serve as a trusted business partner across the leadership team and report directly to the management team
What You Bring
Experience
• 7+ years in senior financial leadership roles, ideally at a high-growth venture-backed company
• Proven success leading FP&A, investor relations, accounting, and capital strategy
• Experience navigating venture fundraising, financial due diligence, and investor relations
• Familiarity with consumer-facing tech, gaming, fintech, or marketplaces a plus
Skills
• Deep expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and capital allocation
• Mastery of GAAP and strong understanding of financial regulations, audits, and compliance
• Proficiency with modern finance and accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Excel, Carta)
• Exceptional communication and executive reporting abilities
Mindset
• Strategic operator with a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
• Analytical thinker who embraces both detail and big-picture thinking
• Calm under pressure and adaptive in high-growth, fast-moving environments
• Passion for data, technology, and building something category-defining
Why Join BetSmart?
• Financial Ownership: Build the financial engine of a category challenger — and help define its future
• Growth-Stage Influence: Join a company at an inflection point with ambitious plans and market momentum
• High Autonomy: Partner directly with the executive team to shape strategic direction
• Aligned Incentives: Competitive salary, equity ownership, and real impact on company success
• Mission-Driven Team: Work alongside product, marketing, and engineering leaders building the future of sports betting
