In this high-impact position, you will hold dynamic enterprise-wide authority spanning financial strategy, capital planning, ALM, liquidity, investments, profitability, pricing, treasury, and enterprise analytics, while inspiring top-tier talent across the Controller, Business Intelligence, and Treasury teams.

Strategic Growth Initiatives

At GECU, growth and momentum are built into every strategic pursuit, driving targeted expansion across premier Texas markets and steering landmark initiatives such as an active bank acquisition in New Mexico. The successful candidate will:
  • Partner with the CEO, Board, and executive leadership team on long-range strategy, financial performance, growth opportunities, and major business decisions.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, capital management, and scenario analysis.
  • Oversee ALM, liquidity, investments, funding strategies, and treasury management.
  • Drive profitability analysis and provide strategic guidance on pricing, products, services, and business units.
  • Provide executive oversight of Business Intelligence and enterprise analytics, strengthening data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Lead financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Lead and develop direct reports.
  • Serve as Chair of the Asset/Liability Management Committee and participate on Loan Credit Committees.
  • Represent GECU through community and industry engagement, building relationships and staying connected to issues and opportunities shaping the financial services industry.
The ideal candidate will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; master's preferred.
  • 8–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within a credit union, bank, or complex financial institution; CUSO experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience across consumer and commercial lending, with a strong understanding of how lending strategy, pricing, credit quality, and balance sheet performance intersect.
  • Strong experience with financial strategy, ALM, liquidity, investments, capital planning, budgeting, risk management, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience with Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) accounting standards and modeling.
  • Experience leading multiple functions at the enterprise level.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial institution accounting, treasury management, and NCUA regulations.
  • Experience with M&A, enterprise transformation, or other significant organizational initiatives preferred.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, communication, and influencing skills.
