• Deep understanding of insurance financials (commercial and Medicare Advantage), including risk-based capital, regulatory filings, and cost-of-care economics.
• Proven ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to Boards and non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience partnering with executive teams and boards through growth, transformation, or capital investment.
• Experience engaging with regulators, investors, and potential private equity partners.

The Position

The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a core strategic partner to the CEO and Board, leading all financial, regulatory, and capital strategy for a growing health insurance and services organization headquartered in the Midwest. The CFO will play a pivotal role in transitioning the organization from a multi-year investment and build phase into sustained profitability, scale, and long-term enterprise value creation. This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role requiring both strategic vision and operational rigor in a complex, regulated insurance environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare finance, business, or relevant field is required. A graduate degree in healthcare finance, business, or relevant field is strongly preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
• Senior finance leadership experience within health insurance, managed care, provider‑owned plans, or closely related healthcare services organizations.
• Demonstrated success operating in smaller, growth‑oriented, or entrepreneurial environments requiring adaptability and hands‑on leadership.
• Deep understanding of insurance financials (commercial and Medicare Advantage), including risk‑based capital, regulatory filings, and cost‑of‑care economics.
• Proven ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to Boards and non‑financial stakeholders.
• Experience partnering with executive teams and boards through periods of growth, transformation, or capital investment.
• Experience with engaging with external stakeholders such as regulators, investors, and potential private equity partners.
