Job summary

EducationSuperHighway seeks a Director of Finance & Operations to design and own the financial infrastructure for its EFTC fundraising program. You will ensure accurate donation processing, compliant tax credits, and timely donor acknowledgments across all 50 states.

This is a senior leadership role overseeing finance, compliance, and donor operations. The role starts as an individual contributor to stand up core operations before the EFTC window opens in 2027 and will grow a team as volume

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in nonprofit finance or donor operations.
• Experience building financial operations, controls, and compliance infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit fund accounting and donor acknowledgement requirements.
• Experience with donation processing platforms, payment systems, and reconciliation workflows.
• Attention to detail with high compliance accountability.
• Ability to build systems in an early-stage environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop data architecture and reporting to scale financial operations with donations.
• Integrate fundraising CRM, donation platforms, payroll-giving, and accounting systems.
• Design end-to-end donation processing infrastructure and optimize platform stack.
• Own relationships with payment processors and payroll-giving providers.
• Create reconciliation processes across systems and verify ACH logic with engineering.
• Serve as internal EFTC compliance expert and manage state reporting obligations.
• Oversee scholarship fund flows, reporting, and outcomes by state.
• Build dashboards for real-time fundraising and compliance visibility.
• Define team structure and recruit as volume grows.
