Amazon Frontlines is seeking a Finance Director to lead accounting, audit, US tax compliance, and treasury for a multi-country nonprofit organization. This senior role oversees a finance team and reports to the Chief Finance and Operations Officer, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting to leadership, the Board, and funders.

The role emphasizes hands-on data work, change management, and building robust financial systems rather than patching gaps.

Qualifications

Five or more years in nonprofit finance and accounting with staff supervision.
Knowledge of US GAAP and FASB ASC 958 for net asset classification and reporting.
Experience supporting annual external audits and Form 990 preparation.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software.
Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Oversee monthly close, reconciliations, accruals, payroll review, and coding quality.
Lead internal controls development, policy manuals, and delegation of authority.
Manage external audit, Form 990, and state filings for compliance.
Handle US tax compliance and regulatory matters including 990-related work.
Provide treasury oversight, banking relationships, and cash forecasting.
Lead a small finance team across countries and transitions to in-house processes.
