Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Hospital CEO to lead one of our 150+ nationwide inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. The role emphasizes strategic oversight, financial stewardship, and a culture of empathy and teamwork within a growing national leader.

You will drive operational excellence, maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards, and champion a diverse, inclusive work environment that delivers compassionate patient care across communities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business or healthcare administration preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree with responsibilities demonstrating hospital operations, budget, marketing, and regulatory compliance.
• Five years of healthcare management experience, including 2–3 years in a senior role.
• May be required to work varied shifts including weekends/evenings/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and Joint Commission standards.
• Foster an inclusive culture empowering hospital staff and advancing the Encompass Health mission.
• Oversee hospital operations and continuously assess and enhance performance.
• Manage patient census and actively market services within the community.
• Promote inclusivity and diversity in patient and workplace environments.
• Motivate and celebrate team achievements.

Education

Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related healthcare field (preferred).

Bachelor’s degree with work experience equivalent to a Master’s degree (see responsibilities).

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related healthcare field (preferred).
• Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with work experience equivalent to a Master’s degree, as demonstrated by responsibilities such as overseeing hospital operations, budget development, analysis and oversight, marketing for volume growth and program development, FTE management, expense control, policy and procedure development and implementation, and process development to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Five years of management experience in the healthcare industry, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a Senior Management position.
• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts.
• May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
