Job summary

Kelso Industries is seeking a Chief/Lead Estimator to provide strategic leadership for all estimating functions within the mechanical contracting division, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and industrial systems. You will develop accurate estimates, lead the estimating team, and drive preconstruction strategy to support profitable growth.

The role requires strong technical estimating expertise, leadership, and commercial awareness within mechanical construction operations.

Qualifications

10+ years of estimating experience in mechanical contracting or industrial construction.
3+ years of leadership/management in estimating/preconstruction.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and project execution.
Experience with design-build, negotiated, conceptual, and hard-bid estimating.
Proven ability to lead large, complex commercial/industrial estimates.
Understanding of contracts, risk, and cost control.

Responsibilities

Lead the estimating department and set standards, processes, and tools.
Oversee conceptual, budgetary, design-build, negotiated, and hard-bid estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems.
Partner with Operations, PM, and Field Leadership to align estimates with execution capability.
Support business development through client meetings and market analysis.
