Job summary

Kelso Industries seeks a Senior Electrical Construction Estimator to join our preconstruction team in Florida. You will develop accurate, competitive estimates for electrical projects from conceptual design through final bid submission.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, labor requirements, and codes. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to deliver timely bids and identify risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in electrical construction estimating.
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials, labor productivity, installation methods, and sequencing.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical plans, specs, drawings, addenda, bid documents, and contract requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical systems, equipment, materials, and labor.
• Prepare accurate estimates for commercial, industrial, healthcare, or other electrical construction projects.
• Solicit, analyze, and level pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Prepare bid proposals, scope letters, clarifications, exclusions, and assumptions.
• Identify gaps, discrepancies, conflicts, and potential risks within construction documents.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, operations, and business development teams to align estimating assumptions with project requirements.
• Develop value-engineering options to improve competitiveness and cost efficiency.
• Understand schedule impacts on project costs.
• Prepare estimates at conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction document stages.
• Support post-bid reviews and handoffs to operations.
