Job summary

gpac LLC. is seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead the estimating efforts for a well-established commercial drywall and Division 9 contractor serving the Greater Boston market.

You will oversee the estimating team, review bids, and drive competitive pricing while protecting margins. The role targets an individual with strong commercial drywall Division 9 experience, familiarity with Boston's union market, and a track record of managing complex bids.

Qualifications

• Our strong commercial drywall and Division 9 estimating experience.
• Experience with union commercial construction in the Boston market.
• Five+ years as Chief Estimator; Lead/Senior roles welcomed if seniority applies.
• Hands-on estimating, digital takeoffs, bid reviews, and scope analysis.
• Proficiency with QuickBid and On-Screen Takeoff.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and review other estimators.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the estimating team, assign workloads, review estimates, and maintain standards.
• Oversee Division 9 estimates from plan review to bid submission.
• Review drawings, specs, scope, labor assumptions, material pricing, and quotes.
• Develop competitive bids considering complexity, productivity, schedule, and risk.
• Collaborate with general contractors and internal leadership to clarify scope and bid strategy.
• Manage multiple estimates and deadlines with accuracy and detail.
• Mentor estimators, improve processes, and strengthen the estimating function.
• Support bidding on projects from tenant fit-outs to major commercial ventures.
