Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Head of Corporate Narrative & Strategy to own the enterprise narrative architecture, thought leadership, and content strategy across six business units. You will shape messaging that resonates with government customers, investors, and industry audiences, coordinating with Product Marketing and executive leadership.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing & Communications, you will lead a small team, set editorial standards, and drive a measurable narrative program.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in communications, editorial, or narrative strategy in defense or regulated environments.
• Ownership of an enterprise messaging architecture and its adoption.
• Built a thought leadership/editorial program from the ground up.
• Fluency in defense buyers' viewpoints, procurement timelines, and primes.
• Able to translate engineering data into executive-friendly messaging.
• Measurement literacy with data-driven approach.
• Knowledge of export controls and public-release constraints.
• Credibility with technical and program stakeholders.
• People management or lead roles on workstreams.
• Journalistic/editorial background with deadline publishing.
• Active clearance or eligibility for one.
• Experience building reputation against primes and emerging entrants.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise narrative architecture and tiered messaging.
• Maintain links from strategy to executive messaging, thought leadership, and campaigns.
• Translate mission outcomes into narrative for government, investors, and industry.
• Oversee thought leadership program end-to-end, including SME roster and calendar.
• Coordinate with executives, Product Marketing, Investors, and Washington Operations.
• Lead narrative governance and content standards; ensure release authority alignment.
• Define KPI, share of voice, and measurement framework for corporate communications.
