Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead all engineering disciplines—systems, electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, and test—driving innovation, execution, and operational excellence across the full product lifecycle.

The role requires deep technical breadth and proven ability to deliver complex, high‑reliability products from concept through production, with strong leadership and cross‑functional influence across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience with 7+ years in senior leadership roles.
• Experience delivering complex hardware and software systems.
• Strong understanding of product development for high‑reliability aerospace/defense/medical systems.
• Experience with systems engineering, requirements decomposition, verification/validation, and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for all engineering disciplines across Kaney’s product lines.
• Develop and execute engineering roadmaps aligned with corporate strategy and customer needs.
• Champion innovation in electromechanical actuation and ball screw technology.
• Oversee the full engineering lifecycle from concept to manufacturing.
• Establish and maintain engineering best practices and quality systems.
• Drive cross‑functional collaboration with product management, operations, and leadership.
