Job summary

Fidelity is seeking a founding VP of Engineering to build and lead the WFM platform from design through GA and beyond. You will stand up the engineering organization, set delivery cadence and quality bar, and own the program's timely production delivery in partnership with architecture, product stakeholders, business units, and the program office.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience.
• 7+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Experience building global engineering organizations across geographies.
• Strong understanding of workforce management for contact centers.
• Hands-on familiarity with optimization or scheduling solvers (OR-Tools, CP-SAT).
• Proficiency in Java.
• Experience with AWS development and operations.
• CI/CD and infrastructure as code proficiency.
• Experience in cloud-native, distributed systems, real-time applications, APIs, event-driven architectures.
• Strong production ownership mindset with reliability improvements.
• Strong people leadership: hiring, org design, and running engineering teams.
• Experience with AI-assisted development to accelerate lifecycle.
• Excellent executive communication and strategic leadership.
• Ability to operate in a regulated financial-services environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end engineering delivery for the WFM platform GA and roadmap.
• Build and lead the WFM engineering organization: hire, structure, and manage teams.
• Partner with architecture to translate target architecture into execution.
• Ensure services with SLOs, observability, security, and production readiness.
• Establish cloud-native standards for design, API quality, event-driven architecture, and deployment safety.
• Report delivery status, risks, and trade-offs to senior leadership.
• Represent WFM engineering in cross-program planning with other teams.
• Foster ownership, technical excellence, accountability, and measurable business impact.
