Job summary

Fidelity Investments in Durham, NC is seeking an experienced software architect to own the Workforce Management platform's architectural definition and target-state design. You will shape domains, data flows, and non-functional requirements to deliver a scalable, secure, and extensible solution.

You will partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Product, and Operations to translate strategic intent into concrete roadmaps, governance, and engineering execution models while

Qualifications

10+ years of software development experience.
5+ years in Sr. architecture or equivalent leadership.
Deep expertise in Java and cloud-based microservices.
Experience with Kubernetes, API gateways, and CI/CD.
Proven ability to define target-state roadmaps and modernization strategies.
Comfort in regulated financial services environment.

Responsibilities

Own the target-state WFM architecture blueprint, data flows, and non-functional requirements.
Define technical strategy for an enterprise-grade WFM platform.
Translate business capabilities into roadmaps and delivery models.
Ensure decisions support scalability, reliability, security, and efficiency.
Serve as senior technical authority for WFM design and execution.
Translate standards into concrete patterns and guardrails.
Align with Enterprise Architecture to governance expectations.
Guide teams through architecture decisions and guardrails.
Identify risks, integration complexity, and platform debt early.
Establish review mechanisms for quality without delivery friction.
Create patterns for high availability, DR, and production readiness.
Promote engineering discipline with SLOs and metrics.
