Job summary

KC Current is seeking a Chief Engineer in Kansas City to oversee the engineering department and ensure operational efficiency. You'll create maintenance programs, manage venue projects, and maintain compliance with safety standards.

Requirements include a minimum of 5 years of experience in significant building projects and technical knowledge of MEP systems. The position demands flexibility in hours, technical troubleshooting skills, and strong communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a building or project over 100,00 ft².
• Technical knowledge of commercial building MEP systems; chilled water, hot water, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, Carpentry, AV, etc.
• Ability to read/understand/interpret Blueprints.
• Previous experience with BlueBeam / AutoCad a plus.
• Knowledge of safety rules, procedures, and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor engineering department's overall operations and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Create and implement Corrective and Preventative Maintenance programs with CMMS.
• Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of venue-related projects.
• Collaborate with operations and technical teams to ensure all venue equipment is functioning optimally.
• Assist with the administration of contracts to ensure vendors meet quality expectations.
