Job summary

Peckham Industries, Inc. seeks a Chief Engineer to lead structural engineering for precast concrete products, with focus on parking structures. You will manage in-house engineers and external subcontractors, delivering innovative, cost‑efficient designs and ensuring regulatory and code compliance.

Travel up to 10% may be required; a PE license and 10+ years in structural engineering are essential. DAiley Precast, LLC is a subsidiary within the Peckham family.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• PE license required; must obtain PE license in NY within 1 year of hire.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience, leadership role in precast/construction.
• Experience managing teams and coordinating with external engineering subcontractors.
• In-depth knowledge of precast design principles and construction practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, SAP2000, ETabs, Eriksson, Salmons Technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage internal engineering team and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Oversee design of new precast concrete structures (parking garages) and repair/retrofit solutions.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards; approve structural calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Provide engineering insights to sales during proposals and pre-sales activities.
• Support manufacturing with design problem-solving to ensure manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
