Job summary

Cambria Hotel Boston Downtown is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the hotel’s engineering, maintenance, and related building operations. You’ll drive preventive maintenance, supervise a hands-on team, and ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency of systems, while delivering memorable guest experiences.

You will manage schedules, budgets, and vendor relations, partnering with Housekeeping and Front Office to prioritize needs with minimal guest disruption.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering, maintenance or facilities teams in large buildings.
• Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and execute preventive maintenance with minimal guest disruption.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, schedule, and develop the hotel's engineering and maintenance team.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, elevators).
• Develop preventive maintenance strategies to protect asset and extend equipment life.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and systems to preempt issues.
• Troubleshoot failures and coordinate timely repairs.
• Oversee vendors, contractors, and cost management.
• Maintain engineering records, work orders, and department reporting.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping and Front Office to prioritize maintenance with minimal guest disruption.
