Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Consulting Chief Engineer in Redondo Beach, CA to lead a multi-disciplinary Battle Management OU and drive development of advanced autonomy, JADC2, and related architectures.

You will define requirements, coordinate across projects, and interface with customers and senior leadership, ensuring cost, schedule, and technical goals are met. U.S. citizenship is required for government work.

Qualifications

BS in a related STEM field with 16 years of relevant professional/military experience; OR MS with 14 years; OR PhD with 12 years.
Experience related to air vehicle flight autonomy, mission autonomy, battle management command & control architectures/implementations, or networking and communications technologies.
Experience interfacing with customers and company leadership.
Ability to obtain and maintain SAP and TS/SCI clearance; U.S. Government citizenship is required.
Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical authority for the OU, providing technical direction and leadership to funded activities.
Define and control technical requirements, and ensure coordination across projects.
Interface with the customer and company senior leadership.
Ensure programs follow engineering principles and company policies/standards.
Oversee technical performance within allocated cost and schedule.
Chair the Technical Review Board (TRB).
Support risk management by identifying risks related to technical performance.
Mentor technical contributors in applying systems engineering principles.
