Job summary

Platform Aerospace in Maryland is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead multi-discipline engineering programs for ultra-long-endurance UAS. You will establish milestones, quality standards, and guide product development from concept through production.

Reporting to the CEO, you will mentor teams, allocate resources, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with AS9100 and DoD security requirements while advancing the company’s technology roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field; 15+ years of relevant experience or advanced degrees with 10+ years.
• Experience leading and managing technical teams across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering strategy with executive leadership and technology roadmap.
• Lead development from concept to production, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.
• Guide AS9100 QMS compliance and drive process improvements.
• Mentor staff and build high-performing teams across engineering disciplines.
• Support technical reviews and strategic planning activities.
