Job summary

Avalore.ai seeks a Chief Engineer to oversee systems engineering and design for the WDP System, translating customer requirements into architecture and leading essential reviews.

You will prepare the System Engineering Plan (SEP), coordinate among engineering teams, manage risks, and mentor junior engineers to align technical solutions with program objectives. Willingness to travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• SECRET security clearance required.
• Certifications: CSSLP, GCLD, or GSEC for junior/journeyman; FITSP-D, GCSA, GISF, or SSCP for senior.
• Bachelor's Degree required; multiple levels with experience ranges.

Job description

The Chief Engineer will oversee all systems engineering and design activities required to engineer and implement the WDP System. This person will prepare, maintain, and execute the System Engineering Plan (SEP), which governs all architecture and engineering aspects of the program. This person will coordinate between various engineering teams, translate customer requirements into system designs, and represent the engineering team in the Engineering Control Board (ECB) to support major program milestones and decisions. This person will establish engineering standards and best practices for the program, lead technical reviews to assess design progress, and ensure integration of all system components. This person will analyze system performance metrics and recommend improvements, manage technical risks throughout the system lifecycle, and collaborate with program management to align technical solutions with program objectives. This person will mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing across engineering disciplines.

Requirements

• SECRET Security Clearance Required
• CSSLP, GCLD, or GSEC certification (for Junior/Journeyman levels)
• FITSP-D, GCSA, GISF, or SSCP certification (for Senior level)
• We are actively seeking multiple levels:
  • Junior: 0 - 3 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
  • Journeyman: 4 - 7 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
  • Senior: 8+ years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
• Good communication skills, self-starter mindset
• Professional proficiency in English is required
• Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications

Work Environment

• Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).

• Salary estimates for this job range from $97,000 - $181,000
