A leading construction authority seeks an Electrical Inspector for supervisory work during construction inspections. The candidate will oversee the inspection of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with regulations. Applicants must possess significant experience in electrical construction and relevant certifications.
Advanced technical and supervisory work responsible for directing the inspection of electrical systems during the construction phase of various structures and service systems. Plans, assigns, directs, trains, and supervises the Building Construction Inspectors (Electrical) engaged in examining electrical systems installation at pre-determined stages in the construction process; ensures compliance with construction specifications, applicable codes, and ordinances. Works at various construction sites and specifically designated jurisdictions throughout the County; work is performed with considerable independence in directing subordinate job tasks and is afforded latitude for use of technical discretion and judgment. Work is reviewed by the Assistant Deputy of Inspections through oral and written reports.
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of 10 years of combined experience in electrical construction work as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Code Official, Contractor, Construction Superintendent, Inspector, or Trades Worker that includes five (5) years of experience in supervisory work; minimum of two (2) years of experience in electrical construction inspections or electrical construction plans examining.
Necessary Special Requirements: Must possess two (2) Standard Certifications including one (1) as an Electrical Inspector and one (1) as an Electrical Plans Examiner per Florida Statute 468. Candidates who possess equivalent International Code Council (ICC) Certifications or other nationally-recognized certifications at time of application and the ability to obtain FS468 Building Code Administrators and Inspections Board (BCAIB) provisional certifications within 120 days of hire and standard certification within 11 months of hire. May also substitute current registration in the State of Florida as an Architect or Engineer.
PREFERENCE FOR: Possession of a Master Electricians credential (must specify on application); considerable years of experience with commercial multi-phase electrical installations over 1000 amperes (must specify on application).
