Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Denver, CO, is seeking a Director of Environmental, Health & Safety to lead enterprise EH&S across manufacturing sites. You will drive strategic direction for explosive safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental programs, partnering with operations and engineering to ensure safe, compliant high-rate production.

The role demands DoD explosive safety expertise, CSP certification, and a track record of building strong EH&S teams in aerospace/defense settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a safety or environmental field is required.
• 15+ years of progressive EH&S experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in defense/aerospace manufacturing.
• Deep DoD explosive safety program expertise (DoD 4145.26) and live ordnance handling experience.
• Knowledge of hypergolic propellants safety and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience with environmental regs (RCRA, CERCLA, CAA, CWA) in industrial settings.
• Ability to interface with government safety representatives and regulators (OSHA, EPA, ATF) at senior levels.
• Proven track record of building multi-site EH&S organizations in high-rate production.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level EH&S leadership across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Own and mature explosive safety program per regulatory standards.
• Lead hazardous materials handling and emergency response for energetic materials.
• Direct environmental compliance programs for regulated chemicals.
• Embed EH&S into product design and production processes.
• Oversee facility safety programs including fire protection and explosive facilities.
• Interface with DoD customers, regulators, and government safety representatives.
• Build and develop a high-performing EH&S team across sites.
• Establish EH&S metrics, reporting, and board-level communications.
• Oversee regulatory permit management (air, stormwater, hazardous waste, explosives).
• Direct emergency preparedness and tabletop exercises.
• Ensure ITAR/export control compliance intersecting with EH&S.
