Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Denver, CO, seeks an accomplished Director of EH&S to lead environmental, health, safety, and explosive safety initiatives across our manufacturing operations. You will drive regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and a world-class safety culture in a high-rate production environment.

Responsibilities include overseeing explosive safety for energetic materials, partnering with engineering and operations, and delivering strategic leadership to a multi-site EH&S

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive EH&S experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Director or above) at a defense, aerospace, or energetics manufacturing organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in DoD explosive safety programs, including DoD 4145.26 requirements.
  • Hands-on experience managing explosive safety programs for live ordnance, rocket motors, propellants, initiators, or energetic material operations.
  • Knowledge of hydrazine and other hypergolic propellants and related safety/environmental requirements.
  • Experience with environmental compliance programs under RCRA, CERCLA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and state equivalents.
  • Experience interfacing with government safety representatives, OSHA, EPA, ATF, and state regulators.
  • Proven ability to build and lead multi-site EH&S organizations in high-rate production environments.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent safety certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level leadership and strategic direction for EH&S across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Own and mature the Explosive Safety Program ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead hazardous materials handling, storage, and emergency response for energetic materials and propellants.
  • Direct environmental compliance programs for regulated chemicals across sites.
  • Embed EH&S requirements into production processes to enable high-rate production.
  • Lead facility safety programs including fire protection and explosive-rated facilities.
  • Interface with DoD customers, GSRs, and regulatory agencies on EH&S matters.
  • Build and develop a high-performing EH&S team across sites.
  • Establish enterprise EH&S metrics and reporting, and present to the Board.
