Job summary

Long Island Cares, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Development to provide executive leadership for all fundraising initiatives. The role oversees planning and daily operations of the Development program, including events, grants, major gifts, and donor communications.

The position reports to the President & CEO and leads a team to achieve multi-year strategic goals, while partnering with the Board and Marketing to coordinate campaigns and messaging.

Qualifications

• Experience leading nonprofit fundraising teams.
• Strong experience in donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Proven ability to develop major gift strategies and grant proposals.

Responsibilities

• Lead Development team with multi-year goals and annual workplans.
• Oversee donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
• Coordinate major gift solicitation and donor partnerships.
• Oversee grant research, proposal writing, and submission for operating and program support.
• Manage fundraising events and third-party campaigns.
• Forecast fundraising revenue and monitor progress toward targets.
• Partner with Board on fundraising activities and outreach.
• Oversee donor management systems and data integrity.
• Develop and monitor Development department budget and calendar.
• Collaborate with Marketing & Communications on campaigns and messaging.
