Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a visionary VP of Design and User Experience to shape the future of educational technology. You will define the design vision and lead collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Learning Science to deliver student outcomes at scale.

You will foster a diverse, high-performing design organization, embedding UX across product roadmaps and accelerating AI-powered personalization while ensuring equity and accessibility.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in UX Design leadership in complex digital ecosystems or EdTech.
• 8+ years managing senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
• Proven ability to influence executives and connect investments to outcomes.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Design, HCI, Learning Sciences, or related field.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate a compelling design vision rooted in design thinking.
• Empower teams to innovate in education technology.
• Build and mentor a high-performing UX team.
• Establish design quality standards and conduct executive reviews.
• Incorporate UX in Product Operating Model with timelines.
• Establish scalable build systems with AI-assisted prototyping and accessibility.
