Job summary

Pivotal Health is seeking a Head of Data Engineering to own the platform, architecture, and team powering our end-to-end data infrastructure. You will lead the evolution of our data foundation, emphasizing CI/CD, maintainability, scalability, and code quality across the organization.

You will inherit an existing data platform and drive its modernization, enabling product teams with robust schemas, APIs, and publish/consume workflows. Strong software engineering leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software/data infrastructure.
• Experience inheriting and evolving an existing platform.
• Strong knowledge of data pipelines, streaming, lakehouses, and AI/ML integration.

Responsibilities

• Evolve & Modernize Data Infrastructure: inherit and chart a path to scale using modern patterns and cloud-native tools.
• Build a Software-First Engineering Team: hire, mentor, and lead engineers specializing in data pipelines and internals.
• Own the Data Lifecycle: build robust, observable capabilities for ingesting, transforming, storing, and exposing data.
• Promote Software Engineering Best Practices: automated testing, IaC, version control, and observability.
