Job summary

North Carolina Central University (NCCU) is seeking an Associate Vice Provost for Institutional Research and Analysis and Chief Data Officer to lead institutional research, data governance, and enterprise data strategy across the campus. The role informs executive decision-making, enrollment planning, and accreditation efforts through accurate data and executive dashboards.

You will advise the Provost and university leadership, supervise staff, and partner with ITS to ensure data security,

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in institutional research, data analytics, or related fields.
• Five years of supervisory and management experience leading professional staff.
• Experience providing strategic data analysis for executive leadership.
• Experience with official institutional reporting to federal, state, or accrediting agencies.
• Experience developing enterprise data governance practices and data definitions.

Responsibilities

• Provide institution-wide strategic leadership for institutional research and data governance.
• Translate data into actionable information for Provost and leadership.
• Lead enterprise data strategy and data quality initiatives across units.
• Collaborate with ITS to establish reporting standards and data security.
• Oversee data governance, dashboards, and self-service reporting tools.
• Guide responses to external data requests and compliance reporting.
