Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Chief Building Engineer to oversee critical infrastructure for a premier data center. You will lead a 24/7 team, ensure uptime, safety, and compliance, and partner with stakeholders to maintain business continuity.

Based at the Villa Park campus, you will manage power and mechanical systems, MOP/SOP/EOP, PM/CM programs, and capital budgeting while driving operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in 24/7 critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA 70E) and CBRE policies.
• Experience developing and enforcing MOP, SOP, EOP workflows.
• Experience with power, electrical, and mechanical systems in data centers.

Responsibilities

• Direct, mentor, and supervise a 24/7 team of facility engineers and technicians.
• Enforce safety standards and design site training programs to maintain qualifications.
• Oversee creation and execution of MOP, SOP, and EOP documents.
• Maintain readiness of critical infrastructure: switchgear, UPS, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRA, BMS/EPMS.
• Manage PM/CM programs and vendor relationships to meet redundancy requirements.
• Lead incident response and RCA activities with stakeholders during critical events.
• Develop and manage annual R&M budget and CapEx plans for infrastructure lifecycle improvements.
