Job summary

National Integrative Health is seeking a Chief Data Officer to own the design, construction, and governance of the enterprise data environment. You will lead the data team and coordinate with external development partners in an on-site or hybrid role in West Des Moines, IA.

The position requires deep experience across healthcare data, privacy and security, and the ability to translate technical constraints into executive decisions while growing the function with the business.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years in data architecture, data engineering, or data leadership.
• Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and HITECH.
• Healthcare data experience across pharmacy, medical claims, eligibility, clinical, or revenue cycle.
• Experience building data environments from early or fragmented states.
• Experience directly managing and developing a technical team.
• Experience managing external development partners and contracting.
• Ability to communicate with an executive team in business terms.

Responsibilities

• Define and own NIH’s target-state data architecture and data governance.
• Establish a roadmap and standards for data modeling, metadata, and access.
• Serve as HIPAA security official and coordinate privacy policies.
• Lead data due diligence for acquisitions and integration planning.
• Directly manage NIH’s data team and external partners.
• Set requirements, testing, and release standards for data work.
