Job summary

S&P Global Dow Jones Indices is seeking an experienced engineering leader to guide a 100+ team of data engineers, ML engineers, and platform developers toward scalable, production‑grade AI and data platforms.

You will partner with product, FinOps, and executive leadership to translate business goals into actionable roadmaps, drive talent development, and ensure rigorous engineering standards, security, and operational excellence across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years directly managing and scaling large teams at Director/Head level.
• Deep expertise in Databricks platform and related lakehouse components; ability to guide platform trade-offs.
• Extensive AWS Data Platform experience (S3, Glue, EMR, Lake Formation) with multi-region patterns.
• Hands-on in Iceberg internals, schema evolution, and cross‑platform table strategies.
• Proven track record scaling organizations from 20+ to 100+ engineers with strong standards.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to influence executives and translate tech to business terms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a 100+ engineering team including managers and senior ICs.
• Provide strategic direction for lakehouse architecture using Databricks and AWS.
• Drive autonomous AI systems with Databricks AI stack for measurable business value.
• Establish engineering standards, SLOs, incident management, and IaC practices.
• Oversee semantic modeling and RAG architecture with Unity Catalog governance and auditability.
• Foster high-performance culture; partner with Product, FinOps, and leadership on roadmaps.
