Highland Bank in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Chief Credit Officer to lead credit administration, risk management, policy development, and regulatory compliance. You will oversee underwriting, portfolio monitoring, ACL oversight, and collaborate with executives and the Board to drive growth and profitability.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and management experience with development and accountability.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial lending, underwriting, loan structuring, portfolio management, and financial statement analysis.
• Strong understanding of credit risk management, risk rating, concentration management, and portfolio monitoring.
• Ability to balance growth, profitability and risk while maintaining a strong credit culture.
• Analytical, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex credit relationships.

Responsibilities

• Review proposed changes to the bank's loan policy and propose final changes to Senior Leadership and the Board.
• Ensure lending policies align with regulatory guidance and risk objectives.
• Establish, monitor, and adjust lending authorities.
• As a Senior Management Team member, contribute to strategic planning and budgeting.
• Provide regular reporting to Senior Leadership, Credit Committee, and the Board on portfolio performance and risk.
• Oversee credit risk management practices, loan reviews, risk ratings, and emerging risks.
• Lead Commercial Bankers, Portfolio Managers, and Credit Analysts in structuring and approving commercial credits.
• Review and approve or reject credit requests within delegated authority, ensuring compliance and profitability.
• Oversee credit approval processes, lending authorities, and consistent application of standards.
• Manage workout/participation relationships and ACL methodology to ensure loan portfolio quality.
