Job summary

First State Bank is seeking a Chief Credit Officer to lead the lending function and manage the loan portfolio. The role involves setting lending policies, monitoring credit risk, and guiding staff to meet regulatory standards across the organization.

The CCO will collaborate with executive leadership to shape strategy, ensure sound risk controls, and drive performance through effective team management and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of combined lending experience and a preferred minimum of five years leading the credit function for a bank of comparable size.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field; graduate degree preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the credit approval process and portfolio monitoring systems for all credit products.
• Review and communicate credit policies across the organization.
• Ensure loan loss reserve and charge-off processes meet industry and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure loan documentation and systems meet regulatory requirements and high industry standards.
• Provide portfolio management oversight to ensure asset quality meets objectives and credit risk is managed.
• Manage direct reports, performance, and training to ensure regulatory compliance and organizational goals.
