Job summary

The Quest Organization in Missoula, MT seeks a Vice President of Operations to build and lead its new construction platform. The role will own staffing, systems, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and project delivery for large-scale LIHTC multifamily developments across the Western U.S.

You will recruit and manage project managers, superintendents, and field personnel, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality. Experience with affordable housing and growth environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience in multifamily or commercial construction.
• Proven success building construction teams and operational systems.
• Experience delivering complex, multi-phase projects valued between $20-50M+.
• Strong scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost controls.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience with affordable housing and LIHTC developments preferred
• Startup or high-growth construction organizations preferred
• Experience managing projects across multiple geographic markets preferred

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the construction division, including staffing, systems, and operational processes.
• Recruit and manage project managers, superintendents, and field personnel.
• Oversee all phases of construction, including preconstruction, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, and project closeout.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop long‑term operational strategies to support a growing pipeline of multifamily developments.
• Partner with development, design, and external project teams to coordinate permitting, procurement, and construction activities.
• Support expansion into new markets and oversee multiple concurrent projects.
