Job summary

Montana Construction seeks a Vice President of Construction to lead our field execution for Major Projects, Framework/T&D/LSRP, and Maintenance, reporting to the COO. This senior role drives safety, quality, schedule, and client satisfaction across divisions while partnering with Finance and Operations for profitable delivery.

The VP will oversee Division Leaders, establish SOPs, manage budgets, and ensure project controls using HCSS, Primavera, MS Project, and Procore.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive field and management experience in heavy civil, utility, or municipal construction.
• 5+ years in a senior construction leadership role with direct oversight of multiple crews/divisions.
• Proven track record delivering safety, quality, schedule, client satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Deep knowledge of underground utility, sewer, water, bridge, or related civil construction means and methods.
• Ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable Division Leaders and field supervisors.
• Experience with construction project controls systems and scheduling tools (HCSS, Primavera, MS Project, Procore or equivalent).

• Owns overall leadership of construction workforce across divisions and revenue streams.
• Champions safety culture and leads incident reviews and corrective actions.
• Sets quality standards and minimizes rework and warranty costs.
• Owns financial performance, including margin, productivity, and cost control targets.
• Ensures projects meet milestones with disciplined resource planning and risk identification.
• Maintains client satisfaction by delivering commitments and resolving issues at the executive level.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and contract requirements across operations.
