Job summary

IAPMO Group is seeking an experienced Chief Construction Inspector to lead field operations on major utility infrastructure projects in New York. The role requires supervision of inspectors, field personnel, and contractors across generating stations, substations, and related facilities.

Candidates should have deep experience in construction inspection, contractor management, and safety, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining compliance with NYC

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in construction inspection and field supervision.
• Proven ability to manage inspectors, contractors and field crews.
• Strong knowledge of project documentation, schedules and RFIs/submittals.
• Experience overseeing large-scale utility or infrastructure construction projects.
• Solid understanding of safety and regulatory requirements for on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspectors, union personnel, and contractors performing construction activities.
• Ensure field teams understand and comply with project scope, drawings, specifications, procedures, and requirements.
• Conduct and oversee inspections of construction activities and contractor work.
• Monitor workmanship, identify deficiencies, and address non-conforming work.
• Protect existing utility assets and maintain facility integrity during construction.
• Coordinate contractor activities with engineering, operations, and project stakeholders.
• Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and field issues and support closeout activities.
• Maintain daily field reports, schedules, punch lists, and project documentation.
