Job summary

Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church seeks a Director/Pastor of Connection, Community, and Care to oversee the Connection, Community, and Care ministries. This leader will shepherd newcomers toward membership, recruit and coach ministry leaders, and collaborate with the Associate Pastor and Deacon Board to care for the congregation.

The role may be filled as Director or ordained pastoral line, depending on credentials and vocational path.

• Strong administrative, leadership and relational skills.
• Experience in building, overseeing and developing both staff and volunteer ministry teams.
• Strong Biblical knowledge and Bible-centered values.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a large, multifaceted church.
• Strong communicator both written and oral.
• Proficient in G-Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and other online tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Connection, Community, and Care ministries with the Associate Pastor.
• Shepherd newcomers toward belief and baptized membership in the church.
• Recruit, coach, and care for Community Group leaders.
• Supervise Lay-Led ministry leaders and coordinate staff led adult ministries.
• Maintain calendar cohesion and collaboration among staff.
• Lead the Deacon Board alongside the Associate Pastor.
• Hire contingent on Livescan fingerprinting.
